The standard engine that comes with the Ram 1500 is a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 305 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. This engine works with an 8-speed automatic transmission and offerings standard rear-wheel drive (all-wheel drive is optional). If you're after a bit more power, then the Ram 1500 makes a 5.7-liter V8 engine available, which offers 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. This engine also works with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The most powerful engine available with the Ram 1500 comes with the TRX trim. This engine is a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that makes 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. The Ram 1500 makes a robust array of performance features available beyond the engine side of things. The Ram 1500 Rebel and TRX trims slots in as adventure-oriented options, offering a slew of off-road performance features.
